August 8, 2019

I’m just returning from a family vacation in beautiful Austin, TX and I’ll be posting about that in the near future.

I finished up the Machine learning class that I mentioned in a previous update, and I’ve been using both Datacamp and Udemy courses to get more practice with Python.

Starting in January of this year, I’ve been experimenting with the Bullet Journal Method®** and I’ve found it very helpful in keeping organized, tracking what I actually got done each day, and prioritizing tasks. I don’t use a lot of collections and lists beyond daily and monthly “to-dos”, but one thing I’ve tried to stay on top of is how much training I complete. I pay for several training subscriptions and I want to make sure they’re worth it in the long run and that I’m making steady progress towards my goals.

On the professional side, I’m working on getting more proficient at using the Red Gate tools that are available to me, particularly for source control and deployment.

For fun and personal enrichment, I continue to learn both Swedish and Norwegian, mainly through Duolingo, but also through other materials and sources I’ve collected over the past two years. I hope to make another trip to Norway next year and explore the area between Oslo and Bergen.

Thanks for reading and I hope you’ll stop by again soon.
